Dale Chihuly
Cobalt Persian with Red Lip Wrap Installation
26 x 55 x 24 in.

12 blown glass components (the large element is as large as I have ever seen one) Chihuly’s sculptures don’t get more impressive than this!

Large and small components can be placed as a very large and impressive pedestal/table arrangement, spread along a sideboard (55” or more) or used as an installation (see image). Looks great low or high!

Achieving the recognition Dale Chihuly has would be difficult in any field of art, let alone a new one, (time has a way of bringing credibility). He co-founded The Pilchuck School in Stanwood, Washington; which has become the most influential school in the world for glass. He has mentored many and influenced all of the artists working in glass today. Chihuly was one of the first artists working in glass to create large-scale installations. He introduced the idea of incorporating glass installations and sculptures throughout botanical gardens. In recognition for his impact on the world’s art scene Dale Chihuly was honored as a “Living Treasure” in l992. His paintings, sculptures and installations are in the permanent collections of over 220 museums worldwide. Dale Chihuly has had dozens of one-man museum exhibitions. He has found what few of us do, a place in history.
